Jonava – is the ninth most populated city in Lithuania, located in Kaunas district, near the river Neris, below the mouth of Sventoji, 30 km to north east from Kaunas. It’s the center of Jonava district. There are two post offices. In the center of a town there is a Concord square, Quiet square. City' birthday is celebrated on the 8th of August and it is often associated with the feast of St. John. Date of incorporation: the 8th of August in 1750. There are 34 056 (2010) residents and the area – 10,639 km²
