Poteronys Mound
Alove, Alytus district
The Poteronys Mound, called Giant mound by locals, is located in the Alove district neighbourhood. The river Alove from the south and west surrounds it. People tell that a priestess wearing white clothes used to ghost in there, she nursed the fire, cried and wailed until cockcrow, and then she would disappear. In order to reach the mound you have to take a right turn towards Alove at Poteronys on the Alytus-Daugai road.
