Vilkija – is the city in Kaunas area near the road Kaunas-Jurbarkas (25 km north-west from Kaunas) on the right bank of the Nemunas. It is urban monument, a unique city of hills, situated in the ridge of Vilkija (80-90 m above sea level). Vilkija parish is teh center of parishes of district. In the the town stands neo-gothic Vilkija St. George' church (since 1908). There are 2 263 (2010) residents, the area is 2,700 km².
