Garliava

Garliava – is the city in Kaunas area, about 10 km to south from Kaunas center. It is the parish of Garliava and the centre of local parish. There are 13 366 (2010) residents, and its area - 3,65 km².
In the city center there is Garliava St. Trinity Church (built 1809), library (since 1955), a post office, cultural center (since 1958), National Museum (founded 1998), the hotel.
Traditional events held every year: children' song festival "Singing for my home country" Sunday after Easter, Art days, children' folk dance festival to win Garliava prize, St. John' festival, folk art and exhibitions of professional artists.
