Sculpture of L. Rėza

Monument to Königsberg University theology professor, the famous first part nineteenth century man in culture, the Bible publisher, folklorist, poet, publisher of fables and K.Donelaitis "Year"(Metai) - Liudvikas Rėza (1779-1840 m.). Wooden sculpture on the elm hill look towards the buried under the sand in 1790 Karvaičiai village. Karvaičiai is a birthplace of L. Rėza. Commemorating it lines from his poem "Sunken Village“ are carved in oak here. The monument was unveiled in 1976 during the 200 years anniversary of L.Rėza. Artist E.Jonušas.
