Gliders dune
Aut. Jonas

Gliders dune (lit. Sklandytojų kopa), also known as the Great dune – for a long time has been the highest dune on the Curonian Spit. Its height used to be 70 meters. However, over the last decade of the twentieth century dune height decreased significantly, and today it is just 50 meters. It is located approximately 5 kilometers south of Nida, in the south edge of the Grobšto horn.
In 1933-1939 Nida Gliding School functioned here. It was the main Lithuanian Gliding summer camp.
